Over the course if the event more than 70 presentations were held by users that stem from the fields of structure dynamics, computational fluid dynamics, and system simulation. Simulation experts invited from over 30 countries presented and discussed contemporary developments and innovations of the industry.Representatives from the international companies BMW, Porsche, Denso, and Wärtsilä  held keynote speeches. Another highlight was the display of an extensive AVL booth with 7 exhibition stands. Here attendees could experience the launch of AVL’s Integrated Open Development Platform (IODP). The paper written by Andreas Wimmer, CEO and Scientific Director of the LEC, Jan Vystejn, Gert Taucher and Michael Engelmayer is called “Combustion Prediction for Large Diesel Engines Using 3D CFD Simulation“. Jan Vystejn presented the paper at the conference.

Simulation is an essential part of the research done at the LEC. Besides the development of our own software packages we presented new insights in connection with highly complex diesel combustion.  -Andreas Wimmer, CEO LEC Ltd.
