Job Description:

  • Development of a system simulation model for the marine propulsion system using existing sub-models for the engine and carbon capture system
  • Analysis of steady-state and transient operation
  • Define merit functions and develop & optimize steady-state operating strategies for engine and carbon capture system
  • Develop transient operating strategies for system start-up & engine speed / load variations
  • Validation of selected operating strategies based on experimental results
  • Provide guidance for sub-system optimization
  • Documentation of model features and implementation


  • Qualified degree, e.g. Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Physics (MSc / Dipl.-Ing. / DI)
  • Interest in thermodynamics und IC engine technology
  • Basic programming skills (esp. MATLAB) desired



Earliest starting date:
October 2018

The monthly salary for this position is € 2.794,60 gross.
