High Speed Particle Image Velocimetry in a Large Engine Prechamber

In this study, state-of-the-art laser-based optical measurement technology is utilized to visualize the flow field inside the prechamber of a large-bore gas engine. High-Speed Particle Image Velocimetry (HS-PIV) has been demonstrated to provide significant insights into the evolution of the prechamber flow field and its characteristics. The measurements provide a comprehensive database for improving modeling approaches and validating 3D-CFD simulations.
