A Milestone for the Energy Transition: Launch of the LEC Zero-Impact Demonstrator “LEC ZID” for Climate-Neutral Energy Supply
With the ceremonial launch of the “LEC ZID” zero-impact demonstrator, the COMET K1 LEC (Large Engines Competence Center) is setting a milestone for the climate-neutral energy supply of the future. This innovative research and validation platform paves the way for the industrial application of hydrogen-powered large engines for the highly efficient generation of electricity and heat in the megawatt range. The LEC ZID is also fully integrated into Graz University of Technology’s energy system and contributes to achieving the goal of a climate-neutral Graz University of Technology by 2030.
