Investigation of the Injection Process and the Mixture Formation in a Methanol-Fueled Large Bore Engine Using 3D-CFD Simulation
Target:
The aim of this work is to gain a deeper understanding of the combustion concept and to better understand the observed limitations through 3D-CFD simulations of the methanol injection process and the subsequent mixture formation.
Tasks:
- Learn something new and have fun doing it
- Literature research on the topics of methanol combustion concepts and related 3D-CFD simulations
- Familiarization with the existing simulation software, setup and post-processing of 3D-CFD simulations for different engine configurations
- Analysis of simulation results and derivation of improvement measures
- Writing the master’s thesis
