NEW ESTABLISHED PROFESSORSHIP "HIGH-PERFORMANCE LARGE ENGINE SYSTEMS" AT THE TU GRAZ. APPLICATION UNTIL JULY 2, 2023

“The newly established professorship “High-performance Large Engine Systems” will take a key position for research in the field of renewable energies at Graz University of Technology. Cooperation with the Large Engines Competence Center (LEC), whose further scientific development will be one of the main tasks, will play a particular role. The early professorship enables an optimal handover from me to my successor. I would like to give my special thanks to the companies INNIO, AVL, MIBA, Bosch, Geislinger and KS Engineers, which, in addition to the LEC, are financing this transitional phase. I am looking forward to receiving numerous applications!” Andreas Wimmer

Horst Bischof, Vice Rector for Research at TU Graz, is also enthusiastic about the new professorship as well as the work of the LEC so far: ” The reduction of emissions and the increase of efficiency of large engines are crucial for achieving the ambitious climate targets for sustainable energy and transport systems. Graz University of Technology and the Large Engines Competence Centre have been among the leading research institutions in this field for more than 20 years thanks to the activities from Andreas Wimmer in this field. It is a tribute to his work that, thanks to the support of important representatives of the Austrian large engine industry, it has been possible to endow an early professorship. The call for applications is still open until 2 July. This will ensure an optimal handover process, so that the large engine research that Andreas Wimmer has built up at Graz University of Technology and the LEC can be seamlessly continued in three and a half years time”

For the new professorship, the LEC is looking for a person with an outstanding track record in the field of “High-Performance Large-Engine Systems” through professional practice and scientific activity, who will represent the subject internationally in research and teaching. The application for the professorship is open until July 2, 2023.
