On the 28th of April 2016 Prof. Andreas Wimmer, Dipl.-Ing. Dr.techn. Markus Krenn, and Dipl.-Ing. Dr.techn. Gerhard Pirker held a talk as part of the Workshop Dual Fuel Combustion Simulation in Rostock, Germany. The topic of their talk was “0D/1D Modelling of Dual Fuel Combustion“.

Andreas Wimmer, CEO and Scientific Director of the LEC, was invited by the University of Rostock to hold a presentation as part of the Low Emission Dual-Fuel Project (LEDF). The university conducts experimental investigations on 1-cylinder research engines and calculations of the combustion process at the Lehrstuhl für Technische Thermodynamik (LTT). Because the simulation of the dual fuel combustion process still presents many challenges and raises questions the university organized this workshop to enable the exchange of experience between experts. The contributions were presented by representatives of the industry and research. The themes which will be discussed in detail were tabulated chemistry, detailed reaction mechanisms, simulation tools, and experimental data. After the presentations there was time for further discussions.

The event creates many possibilities for discussions between experts in this field. Andreas Wimmer, CEO LEC Ltd.
